The Jewish cemetery that was in the Warsaw ghetto is next to this field which was a soccer field. In their hast the Germans did not always wait for transports to lesson the population of the ghetto. This memorial is to a mass shooting of Jews from the ghetto in this soccer field. As you stand their you can envision the families and crowds cheering on the teams, then you can hear the scream of the victims who at one time may have experienced the joy of victory on that same field. The pictures are of the excavation of the sight to provide a burial for the hundreds of victims.
